The business was founded by Dr. Elaine Doorly, who has over 20 years experience in radiological protection and occupational health and safety management. Elaine has been employed as College Radiological Protection Officer for Trinity College Dublin for the past 16 years and has also provided independent radiation protection advice and radiation safety training to industry for more than a decade.

The Radiological Protection Act, 1991 (Ionising Radiation) Order, 2000 requires that all businesses working with sources of ionising radiation appoint a 'Radiation Protection Adviser'.
The Radiation Protection Adviser must be a qualified expert who has been approved by the Radiological Protection Institute or Ireland (RPII) as being a competent person to undertake this role. They must be in posession of a valid Certificate of Competence issued by the RPII.

Our clients have various radiation safety training needs. Radiation Safety Ireland can address such needs through the provision of either in-house bespoke training courses, or the attendance of persons on some of our public courses.
