Radiation Safety Ireland is a leading provider of Radiation Protection Adviser Services. The business was founded by Dr. Elaine Doorly, who has over 20 years experience in radiological protection and occupational health and safety management. Elaine has been employed as College Radiological Protection Officer for Trinity College Dublin for the past 18 years and has also provided independent radiation protection advice and radiation safety training to industry for more than a decade.

In order to meet client needs with regard to compliance with Irish regulatory requirements, Radiation Safety Ireland provides two core services:

Radiation Protection Adviser

The Radiological Protection Act, 1991 (Ionising Radiation) Order, 2000 requires that all businesses working with sources of ionising radiation appoint a 'Radiation Protection Adviser'.

The Radiation Protection Adviser must be a qualified expert who has been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency - Office of Radiological Protection (EPA-ORP) as being a competent person to undertake this role. They must be in possession of a valid Certificate of Competence issued by the EPA-ORP

Radiation Safety Ireland provide a full Radiation Protection Adviser service to assist persons working with sources of ionising radiation to comply with this legislation. Ongoing technical advice and guidance as well as a range of practical services can be provided as follows:

Radiation Safety Training Courses

Our clients have various radiation safety training needs. Radiation Safety Ireland can address such needs through the provision of in-house bespoke training courses at your site. A range of one day training courses can be tailored to suit client needs and can be undertaken in-house on your premises at a time and date that suits your operational needs.

All in house training courses cost 1400 Euros regardless of location or number of people attending (max 10 people per course), and this cost includes course notes, formal certification and all expenses.
All training courses can also be run at a reduced cost of 1,000 Euros at Radiation Safety Ireland, Training Room at Milltown House, Sheetland Road, Termonfeckin, in Co. Louth.

RPA Services

Radiation Safety Ireland provides a full Radiation Protection Adviser Service to assist persons working with sources of ionising radiation to comply with The Radiological Protection Act, 1991 (Ionising Radiation) Order, 2000. Ongoing technical advice and guidance can be provided along with a range range of practical services. button
